What is a Communications Coordinator? It’s all the communication you are seeing and reading. The parish staff and ministries supply the content, and I bring it to you through the bulletin, Parish News email, Ray Report, social media, the Narthex screens, and, best of all – the Website. I’m really enjoying the experience and being behind the scenes. It is my favorite part! The pandemic brought more behind-the-scenes with live-streaming and more job descriptions for me. Learning the cameras, and bringing more to the parish has been the most exciting. Did you know there’s a homily page? How about an archive mass page?
A parishioner since 2001, I joined the Parish Staff in November 2019 as the Communications Coordinator. I primarily work from home, hence my cell phone number above, but you’ll definitely see me on campus often. Originally from Scottsdale, AZ, I relocated in 1995, working in technology for Discover Card in Riverwoods, IL. Soon after moving here, I met Todd, a native Chicagoan, and we wed in 1998 at St Edna’s in Arlington Heights, where I converted fully to the Catholic Church. We moved to Mt Prospect in 2000 and finally agreed to transfer to St. Raymond’s in 2001. It was hard to beat the close walk to church.
We have 3 kids, Megan, Timothy, and Raymond, and I have stayed home with them for 12 years prior to this employment. They have all been through the Religious Ed program here at St. Raymond. I’ve been a member of Mom’s Plus, a co-chair for the Gala of 2008, CRHP and Scouts, to name a few. The ministry that gives me the most back is Vacation Bible School. I brought back a new version of the program in 2007 after a long absence from the church. This has been the most exciting ministry to be a part of. There are many parishes in the area I collaborate with, and we all share the sets and posters from year to year. It’s been a wonderful experience that I have passed on to Sharon. Working full-time and running VBS has made me realize it’s time for someone to lead this charge. I highly recommend this ministry to get involved in, in whatever capacity you can afford. More recently, the Sanctuary Art team has been a wonderful addition for me and Todd.
We love it here at St. Raymond, and I’m happy to be using my degree in computer science again!
