FrScott Hebden was born into a Protestant family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in the Methodist Church.  He was received into the Catholic Church as an adult.  He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1999.  He holds degrees in biblical theology from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and systematic theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary.  He received the doctorate in systematic theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.  Fr. Hebden  has worked as a social worker and public health educator.  He has served as a missionary in Latin America, teaching on the faculty of the Evangelical Seminary of Caracas, Venezuela.  He has worked extensively in Hispanic pastoral ministry both in Protestant and Catholic contexts.  In the Archdiocese of Chicago, Fr. Hebden has served as an adjunct staff member for the Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs and on the faculty of the Instituto de Liderazgo Pastoral.  Before coming to St. Raymond, from 2003-2019 he served as a full-time faculty member at Mundelein Seminary where he taught theology to future priests and deacons as well in lay ministry programs.
